“I discovered yoga rather late in life – around the time I returned to college after my children entered grade school. While studying Yoga for several years I began to notice a real change in my LIFE due to my Yoga practice. I felt calmer in spirit. I experienced better mental focus and concentration on day to day tasks, and my body was stronger and healthier than ever before. I came to realize the practice of Yoga made these positive changes happen, and I wanted to share this experience with others. The benefits of Yoga can be experienced by everyone, regardless of age, body size, or level of flexibility! Yoga is the gift you give to your spirit.”

About Julie:
At age 18 Julie Franklin began her study of Hatha yoga. Throughout college and early adulthood, she continued classes with a variety of teachers and styles. Her love for yoga ignited a passion for mind-body healing. This passion manifested in a variety of ways: Studying and becoming certified as an acupressure therapist, beginning a meditation practice, and studying Craniosacral Therapy. Later her quest drew her to India and Thailand. In Rishikesh India she studied yoga in an ashram for five months. On the same trip she became a Reiki Master and learned the basics of Thai massage.
After returning from India, Julie took an Anusara yoga teacher training class. Julie then spent many years teaching yoga classes in the Bay Area and working as a massage therapist. Julie’s Flow of Yoga style is based on her Anusara training and reflects her own personal expression. She easily guides the class through poses with an intention of opening the mind and body and assisting each individual to connect with their own clear heart. Julie’s classes are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15 a.m. She also offers massage/body work treatments in the Dragonfly Massage Den (click massage tab for details). To schedule an appointment for bodywork call Julie: 530.272.3187.
Diane began practicing Yoga in 2005 in order to relieve the stress and stiffness that resulted from sitting in front of a computer working full time for a high tech company. After practicing gentle yoga three times a week she soon found that her stress levels went down and her stiff joints regained much of their flexibility. Other health problems such as vertigo diminished greatly or completely disappeared! She discovered that Yoga was not just about relieving stress and increasing flexibility, but benefited her body in many new ways. Diane became “hooked” on yoga and developed an amazing new body awareness that allowed her to achieve postures beautifully. In fact, with encouragement from her Yoga teacher, she decided to study Yoga much more with a goal of becoming a teacher. Although she continued to work full time in the corporate world she eventually completed the 200 Hour Teacher Training program through YogaFit® Training Systems Worldwide, Inc. Her Yoga Flow and Stretch class is based on traditional Hatha Yoga and incorporates poses in a vinyasa-style flow along with deep stretches to create strength, flexibility, balance, and relaxation.

About Hanna:
Hanna Ziesel has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and found her practice opened many new doors in her life. During college Hanna completed a 630-hour Certified Massage Therapy program at Crestone Healing Arts Center. She practiced as a massage therapist for 2 years. Hanna deeply enjoyed the practice of yoga and meditation during her pregnancy with her first child. After giving birth to Elunara in March of 2004, Hanna became inspired to help other women during pregnancy, birth and motherhood. She began by giving prenatal and postpartum massages, and studying Doula care. Hanna taught prenatal yoga for nearly two years until taking a leave after giving birth to her second child, Tule. The experience of birthing two children consciously has filled Hanna with the inspiration to help other women get in tune with their bodies, their hearts and their babies - starting in the womb!
